Katie Hellmuth Martin is an entrepreneurista. She started her first business, Katie James, Inc., in 2003, an independent line for accessories and collectible pieces of clothing. In June 2006, she expanded her label to include website design and development, and operates that under the banner of Katie James Pixelated. Katie loves to work with both fabric or pixels to create a unique blend of beauty and function, which she has termed "fengtual", and is the motivation behind all of her designs and the designs of her team.

In late 2008, with two partners experienced in entrepreneurship, Katie launched Collective-E, the first entrepreneurs agency with a community twist. Not only did the Katie James Pixelated team work with partners Beth Schoenfelt and Sabina Ptacin to design and build the Collective-E website and marketing platform, but works in partnership with Collective-E to design and develop websites of its members as part of Collective-E's Agency model. It is with the harmony of Collective-E's core principles: Business Strategy, PR Strategy, Online Presence and Community Building, that allow these website projects to deliver unique results for each business.

Katie loves to blog, feature other designers, and play in online networks such as Collective-E, Facebook and Twitter. Katie was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and resides in the Upper West Side of New York City with her husband, dog and two cats.
